Jody McNicholas is a filmmaker and writer, a recipient of the Robert Redford Emerging Artist Scholarship, and the former director of Meow Wolf’s Community Voices Outreach series. She received the George R. R. Martin Sci-Fi/Fantasy Screenwriting Grant for her project Oar River. Her debut novel, A Girlfriend’s Guide to Assisted Living, was nominated for the 2026 James Kirkwood Prize in Creative Writing and the 2026 Allegra Johnson Writing Prize. She lives in Franklin, Tennessee.
